With her years of experience as a prosecutor and family law attorney, she has earned respect as an advocate who achieves her clients’ objectives. She combines legal expertise with genuine compassion, taking time to listen and understand each family’s unique situation.

Tessie D. Edwards is the Founder and CEO of TDE Family Law & Divorce Attorneys, where she leads a team dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions. With more than 16 years of family law experience, Tessie is a seasoned advocate who combines strategic legal counsel, strong courtroom advocacy, and compassion to help clients protect what matters most: their families, their futures, and their peace of mind.
Throughout her family law career, Tessie has represented clients facing complex and deeply personal matters involving divorce, child custody, child support, visitation, family violence, property division, and other family law disputes. She understands that no two families are alike and believes effective representation begins with listening carefully, understanding the client’s priorities, and developing a legal strategy tailored to the unique circumstances of each case.
Before focusing her practice on family law, Tessie began her legal career as a prosecutor, serving as an Assistant Solicitor General in Clayton County and an Assistant District Attorney in Fulton County. During that time, she prosecuted more than 2,000 cases, including matters involving family violence. That extensive courtroom experience helped shape the confident, prepared, and strategic advocate she is today.
Tessie earned her law degree from Indiana University School of Law and has built her career around a commitment to advocacy, leadership, and service. Through TDE Family Law & Divorce Attorneys, she continues to advance the firm’s mission of providing clients with knowledgeable legal representation, clear guidance, and compassionate support during challenging seasons of their lives.
She is the proud mother of seven children and grandmother of five, giving her a personal appreciation for the importance and complexity of family relationships. Outside of leading the firm and advocating for clients, Tessie enjoys gardening and traveling.
Tessie is also the author of her forthcoming debut memoir, Step Left & Move Forward, which reflects another dimension of her commitment to sharing her journey and inspiring others.
